Dear friends,
I hope 2018 has been kind to you and you are sending it off with a full heart. Life is a journey of ups and downs and one of the things that makes it worthwhile for me are my creative endeavors and being able to touch people with my work. In the first half of 2018, we had a number of amazing screenings for Children of the Silent Revolution in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Diego and Chicago. I was very happy to connect with the Bulgarian communities in these cities and show them my film. There is nothing like the experience of a live audience watching your work on a big screen.
The second half of 2018 had some low points. I was developing a couple of new projects, which did not get the support I was hoping for and seem unlikely to come to fruition. Also, some personal challenges in the last three months came in the way of fulfilling one of my goals for this year – completing the DVD and online distribution for Children of the Silent Revolution. So this remains to be done in 2019. Thank you for your patience, as I know many of you are still waiting to see the film.
Frankly, I’m in a period of soul searching of how I can continue on the path of being a filmmaker in a sustainable way. I have faith that the answers will come to me, as I turn a fresh page in the new year. For now I leave you with a couple of photos from the San Francisco and Chicago screenings of myself and some of the wonderful organizers of these events. I’m very grateful for everyone who helped organize all the screenings this past year and for everyone who came to the events.
Wishing you a very happy holiday season and a fantastic beginning of the new year.
Viktoria
